How To Deal With Envy

In our minds, there is a subtle glass ceiling we unconsciously place over our peers or friends. We get to the place where we judge how far our friends can and will go based on our past interactions with them. This is so unfair because people can have paradigm shifts because of the following factors:

  1. The books they read;
  2. The people they spend time with and;
  3. The conversations they have engaged in.

When any of these factors drives a woman towards success, especially when she used to be known as a failure, the people in her circle might begin to unconsciously develop feelings of ENVY toward her.

The word “Envy” can function as both a noun and a verb. As a noun, it is a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else’s possessions, qualities, or luck.

As a verb, it is the desire to have a quality, possession, or other desirable thing belonging to (someone else).

These two definitions capture the different shades of the word “Envy”. Envy can eat deep into the heart and stop a woman from walking in the fullness of her capacity on earth. It has a self-destructive power.

When a woman becomes envious of the success of her friend, it becomes difficult to focus on the purpose she has been called to accomplish here on earth.

She will constantly strive to prove that she is way better than her contemporaries, thereby giving room for unhealthy thoughts and desires to take root in her heart.

How can you deal with envy?

By asking God to bring forth your own blessings, thanking Him in advance for your forthcoming breakthrough and lifting up your successful friends in prayers. That way, you quickly uproot the dangerous seed of envy in your heart before it grows into a tree of destruction.

In conclusion, constantly dive deep into your heart to check and ensure you are not harboring any of such dangerous feelings.

May we never be caught up in this. To your success until next time. I remain your girl Esha. Peace!!!
